๐บ๐ธ๐ What are you doing this Labor Day? ๐๐บ๐ธ
Today is
Labor Day
๐บ๐ธ๐๐บ๐ธ
Today, more than any day, itโs important for us to recall the work, fighting, and dying of those who struggled to bring us what too many take for granted:
Weekends.
40 hour work week.
Overtime.
Healthcare.
Paid vacation.
Family Medical Leave.
OSHA
MSHA
Abolition of child labor, under the law.
A middle class.
These are but a few of the things brought to you by our hard-working ancestors.
Constant vigilance is required to retain these hard-earned prizes. The unethical businesses will NEVER do the right thing without the voice and persistent insistence of โWe, the Peopleโ.
What is the concept of We the People?
The first three words in the Constitution are the MOST powerful: โWe the Peopleโ.
They declare that the Constitution derives its power, not from a king or a Congress, but from the people themselves.
Letโs not forget what today is all about, what it signifies for our country, and the example we as a great nation model around the world!

โToday is your opportunity to build the tomorrow you want.โ
โSometimes the biggest challenges in life, end up being the best things that happen in your life.โ
When Labor Day comes around many of us consider it the "unofficial end of summer," but it's so much more than that. This year, take some time and reflect on this day that celebrates the labor movement, recognizing the millions of hardworking Americans who stood up for workers' rights and whose determination laid the foundation for our working lives today.
If you're a fan of the five-day work week, weekends off and the eight-hour standard workday, you've got our hardworking ancestors to thank for that, and that's what Labor Day honors.
And whether you celebrate the day off with a backyard barbecue, a beach day or simply by resting and relaxing, take some time to think on this holiday's history ๐บ๐ธ๐๐บ๐ธ
