40% Health care workers not getting Covid-19 vaccines!

Did you know that some hospitals around the country are reporting that 40% or more of their health care workers are not signing up to receive the Covid-19 vaccine?

A December survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation found health care workers overall were about as likely to be hesitant about getting the vaccine as the general population (29% and 27% respectively), with these respondents saying they would probably not or definitely not get the vaccine.

Another December survey of workers in the Yale Medicine and Yale New Haven Health systems described in a commentary in New England Journal of Medicine, found that of the 3,500+ respondents, 85% said they would be “extremely likely” or “somewhat likely” to get a Coved-19 vaccine. But so far, only about 53% of workers have gotten the vaccine when it was offered to them.

Some hospitals around the country are reporting that 40% or more of their health care workers who could be getting a Covid-19 vaccine are not immediately signing up for it.

Here’s what we know about vaccine hesitancy among health care workers — and what we can learn from it. Health care workers are a diverse group. People working in health systems include not just nurses and doctors, but also those who move patients, work in food service, serve in administrative roles, and keep facilities clean and operational. And the people in these many roles span ages, races and ethnicities, educational attainment, income levels, and many other categories.

Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy may not be the same as other vaccine hesitancy. Most of the health care workers who are reluctant to get the Covid-19 vaccine immediately are not necessarily refusing it indefinitely. Many nurses are in a “wait-and-see” mode, and “wouldn’t mind if a few more million people got it before I did” mentality. Despite the safety and efficacy data that was released by the manufacturers, they want to see more “real-world proof” first.

As the Yale study found, among those 15% of workers who said they were less likely to get a Covid-19 vaccine now, many wanted a year — or at least six months — of follow-up data on recipients. About 11% of these reluctant people said that nothing would make them comfortable getting it; and fewer than 1 percent said they were “anti-vaccine” overall.

“HEALTHY” South Florida DOCTOR DIED (2) WEEKS AFTER RECIEVING COVID-19 VACCINE

Miami Beach, FL (CBS12) — A 56-year-old doctor passed away this week two weeks after getting his first dose of a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Dr. Gregory Michael, a Miami-Beach obstetrician, was in good health, according to WPDE. Health officials from Florida and the Centers from Disease Control and Prevention are investigating whether the vaccine played a role in his death, which may be the country's first death linked to the vaccine.

Dr. Michael received his first dose of Pfizer's vaccine on Dec. 18 at Mount Sinai Medical Center, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Three days later, small spots began to appear on his feet and hands. He went to the emergency room at Mount Sinai, where he has worked in private practice for 15 years.

Michael's blood count was "far below normal ranges" and he was admitted into the ICU, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Just days before the last resort surgery, he suffered a stroke and died.

Michael's wife said in a Facebook post that he spent the pandemic delivering hundreds of babies and was a COVID-19 vaccine advocate.

And, an earlier news report:

The FDA is investigating allergic reactions in "multiple states." The agency acknowledged the reactions may have been caused by PEG, a compound in the Pfizer vaccine that CHD previously told the FDA could put millions of people at risk.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating "about five" allergic reactions to the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in "multiple states."

An Illinois hospital temporarily shut down its COVID vaccination program after four healthcare workers experienced allergic reactions -- one of which was severe -- to the vaccine.

Also, CNN reported that a third healthcare worker in Alaska was hospitalized for six hours for an anaphylactic reaction to the vaccine. The report came on the heels of news that two Alaskan healthcare workers had severe allergic reactions -- including one woman who was hospitalized for at least two nights after going into anaphylactic shock.

Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that can occur within seconds or minutes of exposure to something a person is allergic to. If not treated immediately, it can be fatal, the Mayo Clinic explains.

According to Reuters and other news reports, the director of the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Dr. Peter Marks, said polyethylene glycol (PEG), a compound in the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, may have triggered the allergic reactions in the U.S.

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines contain PEG. Both vaccines were approved by the FDA for emergency use, but are not yet licensed.

Lyn Redwood, president of Children’s Health Defense (CHD), said there shouldn't be any mystery at this stage about whether or not PEG caused the reactions. "It's a simple blood test," Redwood said. "If they've tested the people who had these allergic reactions for anti-PEG antibodies, then they know. If they haven't, why haven't they?"

FDA's Marks on Friday also acknowledged that allergic reactions to PEG could be "somewhat more common than previously understood."

But, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., CHD chairman and chief legal counsel, said: "As we told the FDA in September, studies show that one in seven Americans may unknowingly be at risk of experiencing an allergic reaction to PEG."

"At the very least, everyone should be screened for anti-PEG antibodies before getting the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines," Kennedy said. "It is unconscionable that instead, the FDA and CDC are encouraging people to go ahead and risk a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction and just assume that someone will be on hand to save them."

In September, before either vaccine had been approved, CHD asked the FDA to inform Moderna trial participants that the vaccine contained PEG, and to inform them of the "well-documented evidence of adverse PEG-related immune reactions, including life-threatening anaphylactic immune reactions."

In a letter to Marks and FDA Commissioner Stephan Hahn, Kennedy also said Moderna should ask trial participants if they'd ever had an allergic reaction to any other drug containing PEG, and the company should prescreen trial participants for PEG allergies, as many people who have anti-PEG antibodies don't know they have them.

"Many people who have never previously experienced any type of allergic reaction may be at risk of a severe reaction to the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines," Redwood said. "That's because millions of people may have developed anti-PEG antibodies as a result of having unknowingly been exposed to PEG in the past."

According to research published in 2018,  there are more than 1,000 products on the market -- including pharmaceuticals, processed foods, cosmetics and disinfectants -- that contain PEG. PEG is also the main ingredient in antifreeze.

"Anyone who's had a colonoscopy, depending on what was used for preparation for the procedure, may have anti-PEG antibodies," Redwood said, because many of those products contain PEG.

"It's a simple blood test," Redwood said. "Everyone considering getting the Pfizer or Moderna COVID vaccine should ask their doctor for a blood test to rule out anti-PEG antibodies before getting the vaccine."

Some of the healthcare workers who suffered severe allergic reactions to the Pfizer vaccine, including the woman hospitalized in Alaska, had no prior history of allergic reactions to anything, including other vaccines or pharmaceuticals.

Studies estimate that approximately 72% of the U.S. population has acquired anti-PEG antibodies. The referenced study used blood samples taken from 1990-1999 and earlier, showing a steady increase over time in the percentage of those with antibodies to PEG, making it conservative to estimate, after two decades, that the incidence is closer to 80% today.

With headlines and articles like this one, it’s no wonder health care workers AND the general public don’t trust that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe! And rightly so. This vaccine is nothing like any vaccine released before. It works in a completely different way.

1. The COVID vaccines are mRNA vaccines. mRNA vaccines are a completely new type of vaccine. No mRNA vaccine has ever been licensed for human use before. In essence, we have absolutely no idea what to expect from this vaccine. We have no idea if it will be effective or safe.

2. Traditional vaccines simply introduce pieces of a virus to stimulate an immune reaction. The new mRNA vaccine is completely different. It actually injects (transfects) molecules of synthetic genetic material from non-humans sources into our cells. Once in the cells, the genetic material interacts with our transfer RNA (tRNA) to make a foreign protein that supposedly teaches the body to destroy the virus being coded for. Note that these newly created proteins are not regulated by our own DNA, and are thus completely foreign to our cells. What they are fully capable of doing is unknown.

3. The mRNA molecule is vulnerable to destruction. So, in order to protect the fragile mRNA strands while they are being inserted into our DNA they are coated with PEGylated lipid nanoparticles. This coating hides the mRNA from our immune system which ordinarily would kill any foreign material injected into the body. PEGylated lipid nanoparticles have been used in several different drugs for years. Because of their effect on immune system balance, several studies have shown them to induce allergies and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, PEGylated lipid nanoparticles have been shown to trigger their own immune reactions, and to cause damage to the liver.

Absolutely no long term safety studies will have been done to ensure that any of these vaccines don’t cause the cancer, seizures, heart disease, allergies, and autoimmune diseases seen with other vaccines. If you ever wanted to be guinea pig for Big Pharma, now is your golden opportunity.

Anyone who after reading all this still wants to get injected with the mRNA vaccine, should at the very least have their blood checked for COVID-19 antibodies (there is no need for a vaccine in persons already naturally immunized) AND get a simple blood test to rule out anti-PEG antibodies before getting the vaccine to make sure they will not unexpectedly go into anaphylactic shock.

Here is the bottom line, I would much rather see some time go by and allow more research to come out in regards to the long term effects of the vaccine before we jump on board and put our health at risk. I understand the idea of “protecting yourself” and I respect everyones point of view. However, jumping on board with unknown science and lack of long term studies is not much smarter than say, wearing a cloth mask and going out thinking it will give you 100% protection; it’s just not true and the perception of a false sense of security. There are no mandates at this time to get the vaccine, I repeat at this time, so we should be optimistically cautious about this and allow more time to pass while we get more concrete data. I say this because I love and cherish each and every one of you and want nothing but the best for your health and your families.
