We all know that the holidays are filled with lots of delicious food but, unfortunately, most of itโs also loaded with sugar. Many people would fill up on cookies and chocolates all day long if they could. Iโve found, however, that weโre much more willing to eat the good stuff {and even try new things!} when itโs presented in an appealing way that makes it a bit more fun to eat.
If youโre wanting to offer a break from the sweets but still serve festive snacks, here are some fabulous healthy Christmas food ideas for adults, and kids. Most of them are really simple and can be prepared in no time. Use them for Christmas parties or just some fun at home while watching a Christmas movie or two.
HEALTHY CHRISTMAS SNACKS โ FRUIT IDEAS
There are so many cute Christmas fruit snacks! They still may have some sugar, but at least theyโre loaded with nutrients! If youโre using bananas or apples and are concerned with the browning, you can always dip them in a little lemon juice or orange juice to help prevent that.

THE BOTTOM LINE
โI wish we could put up some of the Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month."
"It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving."
โNever worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall.โ
Hopefully todayโs quick snack ideas will help make your life a little bit easier during the holiday festivities. Hereโs a few additional party tips to help get you through the week:
Be buffet savvy. At a buffet, wander around the food table before putting anything on your plate. By checking out all of your options, you might be less inclined to pile on items that youโll regret later.
Cook from (and for) the heart; and show family and friends that you really care about them. Be creative with healthy recipes.
Pay attention to what really matters. Although food is an integral part of the holidays, put the focus on family and friends, laughter and cheer.
Drink to your health. A glass of eggnog can set you back 500 calories; wine, beer, and mixed drinks range from 150 to 225 calories. If you drink alcohol, have a glass of water or flavored seltzer in between drinks.
Distance helps the heart stay healthy. At a party, donโt stand next to the food table where youโll mindlessly reach for food as you talk. If you know you are prone to recreational eating, pop a stick of gum so you wonโt keep reaching for the chips.
Take 10 before taking seconds. It takes a few minutes for your stomachโs "Iโm getting full" signal to get to your brain. After finishing your first helping, take a 10-minute break. Make conversation. Drink some water. Then re-check your appetite. You might realize you are full, or only want a small portion of seconds.
You donโt need to deprive yourself, eat only boring foods, or enjoy treats with a side order of guilt. Instead, by practicing a bit of moderation and healthy eating, you can come through the holidays without jeopardizing your immune system or feeling exhausted by spiked sugar levels .
